If you’re looking for a new family holiday spot, we’d love to show you our place. Set right on the Takapuna waterfront, we are one of Auckland’s most beautiful camping grounds. We have all sorts of family-friendly things to do within close proximity. Kids will love the beach, the epic playground, easy walking trails, exciting indoor activities, and more!
Our holiday park has been a treasured kiwi holiday spot for generations. Roll up with your caravan or campervan and enjoy your own slice of Takapuna paradise. We offer powered camping sites of all sizes, just footsteps from the waterfront. Our sites are even pet friendly, so you really can bring the WHOLE family! No need to leave your fur baby at home.
We also have all the extra facilities you need for a great stay, including free WiFi, clean bathrooms, free hot showers, kitchen, dining area with free BBQs, and an onsite laundry. Check out all of our camping sites available for families below!
The beautiful Takapuna Beach is one of Auckland’s favourite beaches, and it’s easy to see why! A long, sandy stretch of golden shoreline, with beautiful views over the water and out to Rangitoto Island.
Located right next to our holiday park, the beach is great for family walks, sunbathing, or building sandcastles. It’s also pet friendly, so you can take the family dog for walks as well!
If you’re camping with the kids, you’ll be glad to know there’s a seriously awesome playground right on the beachfront! Just take a leisurely stroll down the beach from the holiday park.
There are all sorts of slides, swings, towers, climbing nets, and loads more to explore. It’s the perfect spot for little ones to burn off some energy while you soak in the view. Pack a picnic and make a day of it!
The famous Lava Trail starts right from our holiday park. This a beautiful coastal walk from Takapuna Beach to Milford Beach. Not only is the walk mostly flat and great for kids, there are also rock pools and ancient fossil formations to explore along the way. Take your time and take in the uninterrupted views of Hauraki Gulf and Rangitoto Island.
If you’re looking for another unique family walk, take a ferry from Devonport over to Rangitoto Island itself. You can hike to the summit, try out the shorter walking trails, or even book a guided tour. Be sure to take your time and explore the lava caves and volcanic landscape!
Rainy day? That’s not a problem in Takapuna! Thrillzone is a go to spot for all sorts of indoor fun, and is within walking distance from Takapuna Beach Holiday Park. Their virtual reality games and immersive experiences are absolutely mind blowing! With options for all ages, it’s a unique activity you can do together as a family.
For the problem solvers, Thrillzone has a range of escape rooms, as does Escape HQ just around the corner. It’s time to find out how well you can work together as a family!
If you’re more in the mood for sitting back and relaxing, Takapuna Beachside Cinemas is a great option. The cinema is both modern and quirky, with comfy couches and great snack options. An ideal place to catch the latest family flick!
In just 20 minutes, you can find yourself in Auckland City, where there are endless possibilities! One of our favourite family activities is Auckland Zoo. See lions, tigers, giraffes, monkeys, native birds, and so much more! There are always new exhibitions and experiences, so make sure to check their website to see what’s on. There’s also a cafe on site so you can stop for lunch.
Another special activity for all ages is to make your way up the iconic Sky Tower. The kids won’t soon forget visiting the tallest tower in the country!
